Lectures, talks, poems and presentations were given at the festival – some of which can be heard on audio recordings below.
An Dr Caitríona Ní Chléirchín is from County Monaghan and is a contemporary poet in a long lineage of Oriel poets and harpers. She was one of the many speakers and artists who appeared at Éigse Oirialla.
A new poem was written by her at the festival, as was the tradition among Oriel poets and harpers.
AthOirialla
Óméith faoi chlapsholas
tráthnóna i nDeireadh Fómhair
is conamar an choimheascair ag titim ag an Éigse
soilse trasna an chuain
go contae an Dúin
sléibhte na Cuailgne
dúghorm i gcoinne spéire
fuaim shéimh na farraige
ag lapadaíl san oíche
is cumhra feamainne ar an aer
blaisim iontas arís
osclaíonn mo shúile athuair
téim ag comhrá le taibhsí
ólaim filíocht
ceol is amhráin
leanaim coiscéimeanna gan rian
fliuchaim mo bhéal
cuardaím Cathal Buí,
Peadar an Doirníneach is Art Mac Cumhaigh
ach freagra uathu na radairí cha bhfaighim… is chan fhuil agam ach scadán amháin agus dúlamán na binne buí …
gan chomluadar filí.© Caitríona Ní Chléirchín 2017
