‘A Hidden Ulster – people, songs and traditions of Oriel’ – Order Here

Sessions

Last Night’s Fun …

Éigse Oirialla was essentially about people and community enjoying traditional Oriel Gaelic arts in convivial company of friendship and good music. As at all good festivals, informal sessions were the order of the day, taking place in bar and hall, between recitals and receptions. During the after concert sessions, songs held centre stage with dance and instrumental musicians leading the way into the small hours.

“Deireadh seachtaine den scoth ag Éigse Oirialla. Eispéireas mar é ní raibh agam le fada. Ceol, dúchas, dóchas, oidhreacht, fréamhacha, spraoi, eolas, cairdeas, grá, bród, dearfacht, todhchaí… uilig le chéile ag an aon ócáid amháin.”

A wonderful weekend at Éigse Oirialla. An experience such as I haven’t had this long time. Music, heritage, hope, inheritance, roots, fun, knowledge, friendship, love, pride, positivity, future …. all together at one single event.
